Russian Aviaton » Sunday June 5, 2016 17:35 MSK

The Emergencies Ministry’s Mil Mi-8 Helicopter has evacuated 12 adults and 17 children from the cutoff mountain settlement of Tkhagapshi in Sochi. The people were delivered to their relatives to the safe place in Lazarevskoye settlement.

The pilots were careful, as a pregnant woman was on board. Right after the arrival she was sent to the hospital for a checkup. Others were met by their relatives.

Currently the Emergencies Ministry’s rescuers, communal services workers and power engineers continue the efforts to clear out mud from the road that leads to nearby settlements, which got cut off by the heavy rain.

There is still no electricity in these settlements (Tkhagabshi, Tatyanovka and Maryino) due to mudflow.

In central part of Sochi the rain fall continues to flood streets and uproot trees. In the settlement of Kepsha the flood stream destroyed pavements.

There are no injured or killed due to the adverse weather.
