One of Russia’s largest carriers became ENGINEERING Holding’s new customer in terms of aircraft painting. In April the Holding returned to Ural Airlines its freshly repainted Airbus A320.
It was the first time in the airline’s history of over ten years of operating A320s to trust aircraft painting to a Russian company.
S7 Engineering (part of ENGINEERING Holding) did the painting work in ten days in its dedicated hangar located at Mineralnye Vody Airport.
For the complete repaint of the A320 S7 Engineering team used 7100 sandstone wheels, 800 liters of painting and coating materials, 1300 liters of other chemical liquids, 1.8 km of masking paper, 1.3 km of lining and 12 km of tape. The finish-off applied to the Ural Airlines’ aircraft was CA8000, produced by one of the leaders of chemicals for aerospace industry, the PPG Aerospace.
After the paint job was complete, the provider also performed the obligatory weighing and maintenance of the aircraft.
The Engineering Holding is currently negotiating further painting and coating renewal projects for other A320s operated by the Ural Airlines.
For S7 Engineering staff at Mineralnye Vody the Ural Airlines’ Airbus A320 became their seventh painting contract since the beginning of 2016. Before the end of the year the ENGNEERING Holding plans to paint at least two dozens aircraft.
