Rescue operation at Zigalga Ridge ends well

A tourist injured after the fall from Zigalga Ridge was saved today thanks to quick actions of rescuers from Chelyabinsk Region fire garrison, workers from the Ural Regional Center of the Emergency Ministry and medics.

Yesterday evening a group of 4 tourists were riding quads in the mountains. One of them was not careful and fell from great height. Friends of the injured men called the Ust-Katav fire and rescue team and asked for help.

Workers of the Asha fire and rescue garrison and medical personnel were sent in immediately. After the examination it became clear that the injured could not be transported by a quad because of his injuries and broken country, so it was decided to send aircraft of the Ural Regional Center of the Emergency Ministry for him.

An Emergency Ministry helicopter took off from the city of Yekaterinburg early next morning. Because of complex relief of Zigalga Ridge the crew decided to land the helicopter away from the incident scene. The rescuers and medics walked to the injured and then he was evacuated by the Mil Mi-8 helicopter to a hospital in the town of Satka.

By now the injured has gained consciousness and his life is out of danger.
