Army aviation of the Eastern MD started firefighting in the Zabaikalsky Krai

Mi-8AMTSh helicopters crews of the Eastern MD army aviation base located in the Zabaikalsy Krai took part in fire-prevention measures. The crews performed the first water drop in 2016.

Within last weekend, army aviation of the Eastern MD in the Zabaikalsky carried out about 10 water drops on fire spots in forests. 3 Mi-8AMTSh helicopters equipped with VSU-2 water drop devices were involved in the operations.

VSU – is a flexible rubberized water drop device attached to Mi-8AMTSh and Mi-8 helicopter from the outside and containing 2 tons of water.

Water was dropped on the forest areas in the vicinities to inhabited localities of Krasny Yar and Lesnoy Gorodok. Apart from dousing fire, helicopter crews conducted forest areas spillage to prevent spreading of forest fire.
