Basel Aero airports increased 2-month passenger flow by 21%

In January-February 2016, the airports of Sochi, Anapa, Krasnodar and Gelendzhik operating as part of the Basel Aero airport holding served 1.022 million passengers (+21% year-on-year), the holding informed.

The airports served 56,620 international passengers (-35%), the number of passengers on domestic air routes reached 964,965 (+28%). The number of departures increased by 10% to 4,729, cargo and mail handling exceeded 1,266 tonnes.

The passenger throughput of Krasnodar International Airport decreased by 2% to 385,236, the passenger throughput of Anapa International Airport increased by 34% to 56,225.

The passenger flow of Sochi International Airport increased by 44% to 580,053 passengers, including more than 563,000 domestic air passengers (+48%), 16,883 international passengers (-25%).

Basel Aero established in 2007 manages Basic Element's airport assets. Since June 2012, it has been operating as a joint venture of Basic Element, Sberbank of Russia and Changi Airports International (Changi Airport Group's wholly owned subsidiary). Today, Basel Aero is managing airports in Krasnodar, Sochi, Gelendzhik and Anapa. The airports account for more than 7% of Russia's total passenger traffic and ca. 1.5% of the total freight flow.

In 2015, the passenger throughput of Basel Aero's airports grew by 12% year-on-year to 8.671 million passengers.

In January 2016, the passenger throughput of Basel Aero's airports reached 509,191 passengers (+15% year-on-year).
