The boards of “Terminal B Sheremetyevo” Joint Company and “Interterminal tunnel Sheremetyevo” Joint Company at the meeting on March, 13 determined the developer of the main projects of the Northern terminal complex (NTC): new terminal B and two interterminal tunnels. The General contractor is “Energo-Stroy” ltd.

The General plan of development of Sheremetyevo airport includes the construction of four objects in NTC by the FIFA world Cup 2018: new terminal B for domestic flights with passenger traffic 15 mln pax annually and a total area of 107 thousand square meters, two interterminal tunnels (passenger and baggage) with 2100 m length, the third fuel-filling complex and a new cargo complex.

The passenger tunnel will guarantee the minimum connection time and improve the efficiency of passenger transfer between the terminals, and a baggage tunnel would reduce the time of luggage transporting between terminals. The duration of connecting time for transfer passengers will not exceed 50 minutes. For the first time in Russia underground interterminal tunnels under active runways will be built.

Annual capacity of the airport by 2018 while maintaining a high quality of service will amount to 50 million passengers. Modernization of the terminal infrastructure will be held simultaneously with the commissioning of the third independent runway (R-3).
