First crews of Su-24M tactical bombers returned from Syria to Chelyabinsk

Today the first crews of Su-24M tactical bombers have returned from Hmeymim airbase (Syria) to a Central MD airfield in the Chelyabinsk Region.

The pilots made a fly-past over the airfield in a formation at low altitude. This is how they saluted relatives and colleagues at the airbase.

The meeting ceremony was participated by the Chief of the combat training of the tactical aviation of the Aerospace Forces Main Command Major General Oleg Makovetsky, Deputy Commander of the Central MD Major General Sergei Poletuchy and Vice Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Oleg Klimov.

According to the Commander-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces Viktor Bondarev, withdrawal of the main part of the Russian aviation group from the Latakia province will be completed in three days.
