Israeli TAT Technologies Ltd and Russian ENGINEERING - the Aviation Maintenance Holding are gearing up to launch operation of a dedicated facility for repair of aircraft heat exchange units in 2016. The facility will be unique for Russia and the entire CIS region.
Based in Novosibirsk’s Tolmachevo Airport, the facility will be managed by TAT-Engineering, a joint-stock venture between the partner companies, TAT Technologies and ENGINEERING Holding.
“We are proud of our co-operation with the ENGINEERING Holding. The new venture will provide “in-house” services for our clients in the CIS countries, complementing the heat-exchange system repair solutions already offered on the market. TAT Technologies Ltd unites its extensive experience in heat exchange unit maintenance with the capacities and reputation of the ENGINEERING Holding, a guarantee that our clients will receive prompt assistance in time-sensitive situations with no compromise in quality and reliability,” Dr. Itsik Maaravi, TAT Technologies’ President and CEO commented.
TAT Technologies’ subsidiary, Limco Airepair, which specializes in maintenance and repair of heat exchange units, will be an active participant in the creation of the new facility.
Novosibirsk was chosen as the base location for the new venture for a number of reasons, one of them is that it’s home to Sibir Technic. The latter is the ENGINEERING Holding’s subsidiary, which provides heat exchange unit maintenance services to Russian carriers. Its facility is located in Tolmachevo’s hangar complex, some 50 m from the TAT-Engineering’s.
“We have been repairing heat exchange units before this co-operation project with TAT Technologies started. However, the service was basically limited to defect rectification and cleaning,” says Alexander Filippov, ENGINEERING Holding’s Business Development Director. “When a more complex repair was required we had to send the units abroad, since there are no specialized facilities for repairing these units in Russia.”
It is assumed that Limco Airepair will provide the new facility with unique equipment and redirect all of its clients in Russia and the CIS to TAT-Engineering.
