"Aviadarts" international contest preliminaries started in the Southern MD.

Pilots of the 4th Air Force and Air Defence army, aviation units located in Rostov region, Krasnodar Krai, Stavropol Krai and Crimea are participating in the contest.

34 crews of Ka-52, Mi-8AMTSh and Mi-35 helicopters are competing at three ranges in Crimea, Northern Ossetia and Kuban.

The pilots are to penetrate air defence system of the simulated enemy, perform firing engaging ground targets at the distance of up to 1,500 meters with guns and unguided missiles.

In total, more than 40 pieces of aviation hardware are involved in the event.
