MiG-31BM fighter crews of the Western MD aviation regiment practiced intercepting of the simulated illegal infiltrator, which was moving in direction to the strategic facilities located in the North-West of Russia.

The reconnaissance aircraft was detected by ground air defence means in due time.

A pair of fighter-interceptors performed training operations aimed at compulsory landing on the airfield.

MiG-31BM is fitted with modern control system. It is fitted with equipment able to detect a target at the distance of 320 kilometers and engage the target at the distance of 280 kilometers.

The aircraft is capable to track up to 10 aerial targets.
