Oleg Safonov, the head of Russia's Federal Agency for Tourism, and Morteza Rahmani Movahed, deputy head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), have signed a program of joint actions to be taken in 2016-2018 pursuant to the existing Russian-Iranian intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the sphere of tourism, Russia's Federal Agency for Tourism informed.

The government authorities of Iran confirm their interest in Russian tourists. In particular, the agreement between the Government of Russia and the Islamic Republic of Iran on facilitating mutual trips of certain groups of Russian and Iranian citizens took effect on February 6, 2016.
