Emergencies Ministry jet carries out medical evacuation from Simferopol to Moscow

An Emergencies Ministry Antonov-148 plane has delivered from Simferopol to Moscow three seriously-ill patients, including a newborn baby. All of them are urgent need of highly-qualified and high-tech medical aid.

In Moscow the patients are going to be transported to the N.I. Pirogov City Hospital No 1, the A.V. Vishnevsky Research Institute of Surgery and the A.N. Bakulev Research Center for Cardio-Vascular Surgery.

The plane of the Ministry for Emergency Situations which carries out medical evacuations is rigged up with modern equipment and special medical modules which allow providing medical aid to patients during the flight.

During the flight the patients were accompanied by medical personnel of the Tsentrospas team of the Emergencies Ministry, Russian Disaster Medicine Center Zashchita of the Russian Healthcare Ministry and a psychologist of the Center for Emergency Psychological Aid of the Emergencies Ministry.
