Proton-M booster to launch space devices in the framework of Russian-European ExoMars-2016 research mission was delivered to Baikonur spaceport.

“Proton-M booster designated to launch Schiaparelli demonstration descent module and Trace Gas Orbiter module in the framework of Russian-European ExoMars-2016 mission was delivered to Baikonur spaceport from Khrunichev Centre”, – official message says.

ExoMars is Roscosmos and ESA joint project. Trace Gas Orbiter will study trace gas in Mars atmosphere and distribution of ice in Mars ground using Russian scientific equipment developed by RAS Institute for Space Research. Orbital module will also transmit the data from demonstration landing module on mission 2016 and landing module and Mars rover os 2018 mission.
