The Yamal Airlines, Russia, has not suspended air ticket sales for flights to Tajikistanfrom the Moscow’s Zhukovsky Airport, Andrey Dubrov, Commercial Director of this air carrier, told TASS.
“We did not stop the sale of air tickets for flights to Tajikistan’s Dushanbe and Khujand from Russia’s Zhukovsky. Until now, no any certain decision regarding these flights has been approved by aviation authorities of Russia and Tajikistan. At present, we officially transfer the flight departure and are still waiting for permission”, Mr. Dubrov said.
Earlier, one reported that about 200 people, who were unable to fly to Tajikistanfrom Zhukovsky, were settled in hotels. According to Yevgeny Solodilin, the first deputy general director of the Zhukovsky Airport, many passengers change their flights to ones of Yakutia Airlines.
On December 20, 2016 Tajikistan did not agree on flights from Zhukovsky for Yamal Airlines referring to the violation of parity in the number of air carriers from both sides. In recent days, there has been a limit to air traffic between the Russian Federation and Tajikistan: Russian aviation authorities have forbidden Tajik Somon Air to operate flights to the regions of Russia excepting flights to Moscowand St. Petersburg. In response, Tajikistanhas banned Ural Airlines to fly to Tajikistanfrom several cities in Russia.
Prior to the introduction of restrictions between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation, Russia was presented in Tajikistan by three its air carriers, namely S7 Airlines, Ural Airlines and UTair and Tajikistan, in turn, - by two ones: Somon Air and Tajik Air. The parity, according to the bilateral agreements, can be established only on flights from Moscow airports, but the airport in Zhukovsky refers to the Ramensky air hub.
