Results of competition for mission patch of Soyuz MS-05

In late October 2016 the crew of the manned spacecraft Soyuz MS-05 announced an open competition for the mission patch design.

During submittal period which lasted almost a month ROSCOSMOS received more than 700 entries! Making a choice was so difficult that the crew commander Sergei RYAZANSKI (Roscosmos), flight engineers Randolph BRESNIK (NASA) and Paolo NESPOLI (ESA) made a decision to postpone the announcement of the competition results to give themselves more time to study each entry and arrive at a unanimous decision.

So today the crew is ready to announce the winner! The design by Anastasiya Sergeevna TIMOFEEVA (Yekaterinburg) will become the basis for the official patch of Soyuz MS-05 mission. In addition to this, the crew awarded an honorary mention to the entries by Maria Andreevna SUSLOVA (Kaliningrad), Marat Takhirovich IZMAILOV (Moscow), Viktoria Vadimovna USHAKOVA (St. Petersburg) and Andrei Ivanovich SUBBOTIN (Sovetskaya Gavan).

We congratulate the winners and authors of the entries, which received an honorary mention. You have taken part not just in a creative contest, but in preparations for a space mission. As a commemorative prize you will receive patches that have been to space from the crew of Sergei Ryazanski and gifts from ROSCOSMOS.
