Charter flights to Baikonur offered to organize for tourists at Expo

During the EXPO-2017 international specialized exhibition in Astana, Kazakhstan, foreign tourists will be facilitated, as regards issuance of permits to visit the spaceport, according to Erlan Sydykov, Chairperson of the Public Council for Organizing and Holding of the EXPO-2017, Kazinform reported.

“Our Baikonur traditionally arouses interest among foreign tourists. And today a public council proposed a solution for a few questions to simplify permits issuance from 45 days down to 14 days for a visit of the closed city named Baikonur, and to organize regular charter flights during the EXPO en route Astana - Baykonur – Astana and Almaty – Baikonur – Astana, as the interest among tourists is high”, Mr. Sydykov said to reporters at the conclusion of the fourth meeting of the EXPO-2017 public council.

According to him, foreign tourists will watch the launch of rockets from the spaceport. For these purposes, one will equip comfortable viewing platforms.

At this time, there is a set of volunteers among the students who will meet guests at the Expo. “Volunteers will have to be good in languages, first of all, know Kazakh tradition, so that they would be nice to talk with our guests”, Mr. Sydykov explained.

Earlier, one reported that Baikonur is considered as one of the top travel brands in Kazakhstanduring the EXPO-2017.
