Tajikistan cancels Ural Airlines’ flights from four Russian cities to the country

Dushanbe, Tajikistan, has canceled Ural Airlines’ flights from four Russian cities, and it was in response to suspension of flights for Somon Air to Russia, Yusuf Rahmonov, head of the Civil Aviation Department under the Tajikistan’s Ministry of Transport, told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the Press Service of the Russia’s Ministry of Transport reported that Tajikistanhad not agreed allowing Yamal Airlines, Russia, to operate flights into the country from the Moscow’s airport in Zhukovsky. In response, Moscow has suspended flights for Tajik Somon Air to the Russian regions since Friday. In this case, the flights to Moscow and St. Petersburg were not included in these restrictions.

“In response, we close four flights of Ural Airlines, which were operated to Dushanbe from Krasnodar, Ufa, Chelyabinsk and Krasnoyarsk”, Mr. Rakhmonov said.

The decision of the Tajik authorities shall come into force at 12:00 am local time (10:00 am Moscwo time).

Somon Air is the first private Tajik airline based in Dushanbe International Airport. Besides it, Tajik Air, the Tajik national air carrier, also flies to Russia.
