Russia’s Aurora Airline has relaxed restrictions on the use of smartphones and tablets on takeoff and landing. The policy change, which took effect Dec. 12, allows passengers to use electronic devices, but they must disable wireless access and Bluetooth, according to Aurora, ATWonline reported.

The move follows parent company Aeroflot Airline, which allowed passengers to use devices in all stages of flight if they are set to airplane mode from July 1.   

In December 2013, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved the use of portable electronic devices in non-transmitting mode through all stages of flight, including taxi, takeoff and landing. British Airways became the first European carrier to adopt the changes.
