A group of Russian specialists is to perform an observation flight over the territory of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland of in course of implementation of the Treaty on Open Skies.
The observation flight is performed to provide higher level of transparency in the military activity of the treaty countries as well as to increase security by trust enhancing measures.
The observation flight is to be performed with the maximum range of 2040 kilometers on November 7-11.
The Russian observation aircraft will follow the route confirmed by the observed party and the foreign specialists on its board will control the equipment usage procedure and adherence to the terms provided for by the Treaty.
This is the 37th observation flight of the Russian Federation held in 2016.
