Egypt will receive biometric airport equipment recommended by Russian experts by mid-November, Russian state-affiliated Sputnik news agency reported on Monday.

The equipment was ordered following a recommendation by Russian aviation experts, who inspected the security procedures at Egyptian airports last month.

Egypt's Civil Aviation Minister Sherif Fathy said that the equipment, which will be used track the arrival and departure of airport staff, should arrive next month and will be installed in "at least two airports".

"It should arrive in Egypt in mid-November. We will need some time to install it, then we will contact our Russian colleagues and discuss our further steps," said Fathy according to Sputnik.

The statement coincides with the one year anniversary of the crashing of Metrojet  A321 over Sinai, killing all 224 people aboard. The incident resulted in a Russian decision in November 2015 to suspend flights to and from Egypt.

Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said Saturday that Moscow might resume  flights to Egypt before the end of the year.
