Pobeda, Russia’s low-cost air company is not to flights to Yerevan because servicing of passengers in Zvartnots Airport is very expensive, Interfax reports referring to a source from the air company.
Pobeda obtained permission for operating flights from Rostov-na-Don to Yerevan and back yet in July, but noting has been done.
“We have decided to give away flights to Yerevan because the price for servicing passengers in Zvartnots Airport is extremely high - €50 per one person, and it is higher than our price,” the source is quoted by Interfax.
He also said that the average airport servicing price for one passenger of Pobeda Air Company, which performs flights to nine destinations in Europe and the commonwealth of Independent States, is €10 and in some airports servicing is even free.
It was reported in October that Rosaviation gave the company its permission to perform flights from Moscow to Gyumri, the second biggest city in Armenia.
According to Interfax, Gyumri’s local airport Shirak provided a discount for servicing to Pobeda.
Pobeda is a low-cost air company of Aeroflot Group. The company operates flights to 58 destinations, including 8 international, by using 12 Boeing-737-800 airplanes.
