Russia and Tajikistanhad discussions in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (SCO Summit), as regards possible termination of flights between the countries, there are still no final results, there may be different scenarios, which will be discussed by departments and air companies of the two countries, Valery Okulov, Deputy Minister of Transport, Russia, told reporters.
The representative of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation previously reported RIA Novosti that the aeronautical authorities of Tajikistanrefused to accept Russian designated air carriers operating their flights to Tajikistan from the Zhukovsky airport located in Ramenskoye, Moscow Region, Russia. In this regard, Russia may suspend air links with Tajikistansince November 8th in order not to infringe on the rights of Russian air carriers.
“Yes, we talked in Bishkek with colleagues from Tajikistan on the issue of air traffic. I can not please you with any final arrangements right now”, Mr. Okulov said.
He noted that at a meeting in Bishkek with colleagues from Tajikistan, Russia confirmed its winter flight schedule between the two countries until November 8th. “I hope that common sense will prevail... After November 8th, different possible scenarios are possible. It is a matter of consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ level and address these issues with our airlines on the site of Ministry of Transport”, the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation said.
