An air force unit deployed to Russia’s Far Eastern region of Khabarovsk has received another shipment of the Sukhoi Su-34 fighter bombers, head of the Eastern Military District press service colonel Alexander Gordeyev told TASS on Wednesday.

"The new shipment of fighter bombers will be put in operation next academic year and will complete training and combat missions during air force drills," he said.

Gordeyev did not say how many fighter bombers were received by the air force unit.

The Sukhoi Su-34 fighter bomber is designed to hit ground targets as well as naval ones. It is capable of engaging even small mobile targets and aerial targets in daytime and at night, under favorable and adverse weather conditions.
