Emergencies Ministry’s jets extinguish fires near Haifa

Two Beriev Be-200ChS amphibian jets of the Russian Emergencies Ministry that recently arrived to Israel to put out forest fires, are currently putting out fires near the city of Haifa.

Firefighting operations by Beriev Be-200ChS planes started early in the morning. Thanks to cooperation with ground teams it was possible to make the situation easier. But situation still remains adverse.

Amphibian place are based in Hatzor Airbase. Water for firefighting is gathered from the Mediterranean Sea in gliding mode, requiring the crew extreme concentration and precise piloting.

The main objective of the Russian pilots is to defend the cities of Haifa, Galil and Carmel against fire. One major fire was put out by Russian pilots near Haifa.

2 Beriev Be-200ChS amphibian planes of the Emergencies Ministry recently arrived to Israel to assist in extinguishing of forest fires. The planes were sent by the order of the President of the Russian Federation as a response to Israel that asked for help from foreign countries, including the Russian Federation.
