The first flight from Zhukovsky airport to land at Dushanbe International Airport at night

The first passenger flight from the new ZhukovskyAirport, Moscow Region, Russia, to Dushanbe,Tajikistan, will be operated today, November 22, 2016 in the evening. The flight will be carried out by Ural Airlines, Russia.

According to the flight schedule on the website of the Zhukovsky International Airport, departure from Moscow is at 09:00 pm Moscow time. Flight time is three hours and 15 minutes. One way air ticket costs up to RUR 15,000.

The Zhukovsky International Airportwas opened on May 30, 2016. This is a new international airport, located in 23 kilometers from Moscowon the Ramenskoye airfield and it has the Europe’s longest runway (5,500 meters). This makes it possible to take cargo and passenger aircraft of any type. The first flight took off from the airport on September 12th.

Since September 2016, one has already been flying to Minsk, Belarus. In the near future, flights to Tel Aviv and Baku may appear, according to the airport’s website.

Previously, one reported on issuing admission to Russian airlines to operate their regular flights from the Zhukovsky Airport to 11 countries.

Meanwhile, Somon Air and Tajik Air, Tajikistan, will operate their flights en route Dushanbe, Tajikistan – Moscow,Russia – Dushanbe, as before - through the Moscow’s Domodedovo and Vnukovo international airports.

Earlier, the aeronautical authorities of the two countries could not come to an agreement on flights from Zhukovsky for six months.

In early November 2016, the Ministry of Transport of Russiaeven stated that it would suspend air communication with Tajikistan on November 8th due to the fact that the Tajik authorities did not want to take the flights of Russian airlines from this airport.

A representative delegation of the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistanflew to Moscow to resolve this disagreement. On November 6th, the sides were able to settle their differences.

The Tajik side has agreed for flights of Russian airlines from the Zhukovsky Airportto the Tajikistan’s capital with a frequency of twice a week. “This is just like the Russians want” - said then Sherali Gandzhalzoda, the Tajikistan’s Transport Minister.

In turn, the Tajik side received permission to fly to Russia’sUfa, Chelyabinskand Barnaulpreviously closed for the Tajik air carriers and an additional flight en route Khujand,Tajikistan- Saint Petersburg, Russia, was provided to one of the Tajik airlines.
