On November 25, 2016 Air Kyrgyzstanwill launch a new regular international flight en route Osh,Kyrgyzstan -  Abakan, the capital city of the Republic of Khakassia, Russia.

The Kyrgyzstan’s national air carrier will operate Osh – Abakan – Osh once a week, on Fridays, on its comfortable Boeing 737 aircraft at a convenient time, as follows: departure from Osh is at 11:20 am, arrival in Abakanis at 03:00 pm (local time for all airports), travel/flight time is two hours and 40 minutes.

Launch of this new flight is a continuation of the Flight Development Plan between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Khakassia, which has been agreed and approved at the round table attended by representatives of the governments of the two countries. The meeting took place on July 29, 2016 when the Bishkek – Abakan flight was launched.

Both Kyrgyzstan and Khakassia and Tuva, Russia, eagerly awaited for the new flight. First and foremost, it is designed to ensure the accessibility for Kyrgyz citizens who live and work in the republics of the Russian Federation. Currently, this category of passengers has to make flights to Oshand back through the airport in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, which is associated with great inconvenience and high cost of air tickets.
