Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said that had already constructed two MC-21 aircraft, and one was currently in Moscow Region and the second one in Irkutsk Region, where ground training activities were carried out.
Russia will carry out the first flight test of its advanced MC-21 passenger jet in February or in early March of 2017, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said Friday.
In October, Rogozin said that the first flight of the MC-21 aircraft would take place in the first quarter of 2017.
"[The first flight will take place] in February, maybe in the beginning of March," Rogozin said at the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He added that Russia had already constructed two MC-21 aircraft, and one was currently in Moscow Region and the second one in Irkutsk Region, where ground training activities were carried out.
The new Russian MC-21 mid-range airliner MC-21 was first presented earlier in June at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. Different modifications of the jet will be able to carry up to 211 passengers.
