Regular flights from airport in Zhukovsky to Dushanbe and Khujand to be launched next week

The airport in Zhukovsky located near Moscow. Russia, will launch regular flights to Tajikistan’sDushanbe and Khujand next week, said Dmitry Shugaev, Deputy Director General for International Economic Cooperation, Rostec State Corporation, and Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Ramport Aero JSC.

“Next week, we plan to launch flights to Dushanbeand Khujand, Tajikistan”, Mr. Shugaev said.

On September 12, 2016 the airport in Zhukovsky took its first scheduled flight from Minsk, Belarus, and on November 1st, this airport launched its domestic regular flights en route Moscow – Kazan– Moscow.

The Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, opened the fourth Moscow’s airport in Zhukovsky on May 30, 2016. The airport is located near Moscow. Currently, one passenger terminal with its area of ​​17,000 sq. m. has been built at the airport. Also, the airport is equipped with the longest runway 5.500 meters long and it has no any restrictions to take aircraft of all types.

According to Maxim Sokolov, Russia’s Minister of Transport, the new airport at this stage can serve about two million passengers per year and it could be attractive for low-cost or new airlines.
