Today, two command-and-staff exercises of the Russian Airborne troops have been launched. Units of the 76th Airborne assault division (Pskov) and 98th Airborne division (Ivanovo) are taking part in the exercises. The exercise is held in the territory of the Pskov, Ivonovo, Kostroma, and Yaroslavl Regions.  

More than 5,000 paratroopers and about 900 pieces of combat hardware are involved in the exercises. More than 2,500 and 20 pieces of hardware will be involved in assault training operation. More than 20 Il-76 transports will project the servicemen and hardware to the assigned areas.

The scheduled command-and-staff exercises will last until October 10, 2016.
