Combat readiness inspection military control bodies and duty forces of the CIS Joint air defence systems has been finished.
About 100 aircraft, including, including Su-27, MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighters, Su-24 and Su-34 bombers, Su-25 attack aircraft, Tu-22, Tu-160 and Tu-95 long-range bombers, Ka-27 and Mi-8 helicopters, as well as aircraft of the Russian military bases in Kirgizia and Armenia were involved in the inspection.
More than 9,000 servicemen, about 130 command and control centers, more than 160 radiotechnical and more than 40 air defence units of 7 CIS countries (Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan) took part in the actions.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Force Colonel General Viktor Bondarev headed the training from the Control Center of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Summing up results of the inspection, he said that all assigned tasks had been accomplished. According to him, the inspection of duty forces of the CIS Joint air defence system demonstrated its effectiveness and reliability.
