Another regiment set of the S-400 Triumf air defense system will assume combat duty in the Moscow Region until the end of the year, Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Friday.
"As part of the Aerospace Force rearmament with modern and promising air defense missile systems, another regiment set of the S-400 Triumf antiaircraft missile system will become operational until the end of the year at one of air defense units of the Aerospace Force in the Moscow Region, the Defense Ministry said in a statement obtained by TASS.
Also, new S-400 air defense missile systems are expected to join air defense units of military districts. In a perspective, Triumf should form the basis of antiaircraft missile regiments of the Aerospace Force, the ministry said.
It was reported earlier that five regiments were expected to be rearmed with S-400 systems in 2016.
