In 2016, the Southern MD separate helicopter regiment located in the Krasnodar Krai is to receive 20 multidimensional all-weather newest “Alligator” helicopters. 

Before operating Ka-52 helicopters, piloting staff is to pass a training course in Centre of combat operation and retraining in the Tver region. 

Ka-52 is a modification of Ka-50 “Black Shark” helicopter. It was designed for detection and classification of different objects, moving and stationary surface targets, elimination of armored vehicles, helicopters and low-flying slow-speed aircraft.   

Helicopter is capable to perform firing against the target without changing its flight course. Its reverse speed can reach up to 100 km per hour.
