News report on Russian Air Force’s 559th bomber regiment, flying the Su-34

Unannounced combat readiness inspection started in the Southern Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation aviation units and formations located in the Rostov and Volgograd regions under the leadership of the 4th Air Force and Air Defence army Commander Lieutenant General Victor Sevostyanov.

About 1,000 servicemen and more than 40 aircraft, including Su-24M, Su-24MR and Su-34, are involved in the event.

In the course of the inspection, the servicemen are practicing putting units and formation on highest combat alert levels, conducting aerial reconnaissance and performing bomb strikes on ground objects at the Krasnodar Krai range.

The pilots will perform more than 20 sorties and about 20 strikes with high-explosive fragmentation air bombs.
