Russia sums up regional subsidy programs for 2015

Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, has summed up two subsidy programs—the regional flights and the Volga region subsidy programs—for 2015, ATWonline reported.

Under a regional flights subsidy program, Russian airlines carried 548,061 passengers in 2015, up 3.4% year-over-year. According to Rosaviatsia, 26 airlines—includingAurora, Angara, RusLine, Pskovavia, Yakutia and Yamal—operated 10,919 flights on 133 destinations. The program cost RUB4.1 billion ($48 million) out of planned 4.2 billion.

The route that was most in demand was Yakutsk-Blagoveshchensk operated by Yakutia Airline. The destination is followed by Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk-Blagoveshchensk and Krasnoyarsk-Mirny.

The Volga region subsidy program carried 102,603 passengers. Three airlines—Avia Management Group (under Dexter brand), YuVT-Aero and Orenburg Airport—took part in the program, which cost RUB550 million out of a planned RUB620 million.
