Russian Emercom An-148 finishes medical evacuation from Simferopol to St. Petersburg and Moscow

A Russia’s Emergencies Ministry plane An-148 has finished medical evacuation of two children, including one newborn, and two pregnant women from the city of Simferopol to hospitals of St. Petersburg and Moscow. All patients are in need of immediate high-tech medical care.

The aircraft, which was transporting the patients, is outfitted with medical units and special equipment required to maintain the normal functioning of the body and, if necessary, to provide aid to the seriously ill during the flight.

During the flight, patients were under the care of medical personnel of the Tsetrospas, the All-Russian Centre for Disaster Medicine Zashchita and the Center of Emergency Psychological Aid of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

Upon the plane’s arrival to St. Petersburg, two pregnant women will be admitted for treatment to the V.A. Almazov Federal Medical Center and the St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University. After that, the children will be delivered for treatment to the A.N. Bakulev Moscow Research Center of Cardiovascular Surgery.
