Sheremetyevo International airport has summed up the results of production activities for 2015. The number of handled passengers has exceed the number of 2014 and amounted 31 million 612 thousand passengers.

The main trend in aviation industry in 2015 has become the redistribution of the tourism segment from international to domestic destinations. Sheremetyevo passenger traffic on domestic airlines (DAL) in 2015 increased by 5.6% in comparison with 2014 and reached 13 million 809 thousand passengers. The number of passengers on international airlines (IAL) reached 17 million 804 thousand passengers, slightly reduced by 3.7% in comparison with 2014.

During the traditional peak traffic in December the number of passengers exceeded 1 million 081 thousand people on domestic flights, outran the same period of the last year by 7.5% and 1 million 232 thousand passengers on international flights, what is 1.5% more than in 2014. Overall for December 2015 Sheremetyevo passenger traffic increased by 4.2% and amounted 2 million 314 thousand passengers.

Key factors of Sheremetyevo passenger traffic growth in 2015 are: the structure of flights at the airport (more than 90% of scheduled flights), quality and punctual services to passengers and airlines, the growth of volumes and route network of Aeroflot, traffic growth by 12.43% in the Chinese destinations, and 9 new airlines came to Sheremetyevo — Vueling Airlines, Smart Wings, Sichuan Airlines, Ellinair, Azur Air, Air Moldova, Royal Flight, Air Atlanta Icelandic, Severstal.

In 2015, Sheremetyevo airport has provided 265 040 takeoff and landing operations, which is 3.7% more than in 2014.

The most popular foreign destinations in 2015 has become Antalya, Paris, Prague, Beijing and Amsterdam, and domestic — Saint Petersburg, Simferopol, Sochi, Krasnodar and Ekaterinburg.

Aeroflot, Nordwind, Donavia, Air France, Air Astana and Alitalia had provided the main volume of passenger traffic in 2015.

In 2015, Sheremetyevo airport became the winner of several prestigious awards and topped authoritative ratings.

By the end of 2015 Sheremetyevo airport entered the top three best airports of the world for the punctuality of flights in the authoritative rating of British industry Agency OAG.
