Southern MD pilots practice operating Su-30SM newest fighters

Pilots of the Southern MD fighter aviation regiment located in the Rostov region started operating Su-30SM newest fighters.

The regiment received first 8 Su-30SM fighters, which replaced Su-27 ones in 2015. The formation is to receive another batch of fighters in 2016.

In the course of the training, the crews will perform circle, route and zone flights. They will also practice intercepting of aerial targets.

All pilots and engineer-technical staff of the aviation regiment passed a training course in the Lipetsk aviation training center and familiarized themselves with characteristics, equipment and capabilities of the aircraft.
