Shiveluch Volcano wakes up in Kamchatka

Scientists have registered eruption of ash up to 7 km high on Shiveluch. The volcano is located in Kamchatka and is over 3 km high.

The plume of ash has moved 15 km to the northeast from the volcano to mountainous area.

The eruption of ash is of no danger for people: there are no settlements on the way of the ash cloud.

The volcano now has the orange concern color code.

No ash fallouts have been registered in towns and cities of Kamchatka Territory.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry warns tourist companies against organizing trips or tours in the area around the volcano.
