Belarus is going to purchase eight more Yak-130 aircraft, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Commander-in-Chief of Belarusian air forces and air defense forces, Major General Oleg Dvigalev.
A contract for delivery of four Yak-130 operational trainers was signed at MAKS-2015 airshow; the jets will be delivered to the customer in 2016. In April 2015 Belarusian armed forces took delivery of four Yak-130 jets.
“We are going to purchase eight more vehicles of the type in the near-term. Thus we will create a complete Yak-130 squadron and ensure the required quality of personnel training,” Belorusskaya voennaya gazeta reports with reference to Dvigalev.
He added: “we are looking into a possibility of replacing Su-25 fleet with aircraft developed by Yakovlev design bureau”.
