Russian Helicopters Holding Company (part of Rostec State Corporation) started development of an advanced high-speed combat helicopter, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Russian Helicopters Deputy CEO Sales, Grigory Kozlov.
Development of the advanced high-speed helicopter was mentioned before, however, it was not clearnwhther it will be a military-transport or an attack vehicle.
"At present Mi-28NM, Ka-52K and Mi-26T2 projects are being implemented; development of the advanced high-speed combat helicopter has also been started," he said.
According to the top-manager, testing of Mi-28NM — the latest upgraded version of Mi-28N Night Hunter attack helicopter, will be completed soon.
Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces, Viktor Bondarev, said that mass production of the high-speed combat helicopter should be started in 2022; the vehicle’s maximum speed will reach 500 km/h.
