In the network of MAKS-2015 airshow government of Irkutsk Region, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Irkut Corporation and Federal Center of Project Finance (FCPF) signed an agreement for integrated management of the machine-building cluster located in Irkutsk Region, FCPF reported.

The document was signed by interim governor of Irkutsk Region Sergey Eroschenko, UAC President Yuri Slusar, Irkut Corporation President Oleg Demchenko and FCPF CEO Alexander Bazhenov.

“In order to prepare a project for establishment of an industrial park, which will be included in the machine-building cluster, the participants are going to establish a specialized project company in a form of economic partnership – Irkut Industrial Park. The parties are also going to receive state support and use extra-budgetary resources in order to create the park’s infrastructure. One of the key conditions for attracting private investments is the high quality of the project’s preparation ensured by FCPF. The industrial park’s project will be prepared using funds provided by FCPF, which is also going to take part in feasibility study and development of documentation required to attract a private investor,” FCPF noted.

The industrial park will become an advanced site for placing small and medium enterprises involved in production of components on behalf of Irkut Corporation and other Russia’s leading enterprises of aircraft and machine-building industries. 

Establishment of the machine-building cluster in Irkutsk Region will allow integrating the existing and attracting new enterprises as well as producing competitive products in the area of aircraft industry. The cluster will also comprise an engineering center, certification and test centers as well as subcontracting center. The key element of the aviation cluster is Irkut Corporation, which is the main contractor in the network of a project for development of MS-21 airliner. MS-21 Family comprising short- and medium-haul aircraft should replace Tu-154, Tu-154BM jets and their foreign analogues, the company noted.
