Aeroflot may hand over a part of its Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ100) fleet to its subsidiaries, TASS reports with reference to Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Savelyev.

“I think it won’t happen this year, but we have plans for the next year. We are considering two subsidiaries – Rossiya and Donavia,” he said.

It was reported earlier that Aeroflot’s subsidiary – Rossiya, is negotiating with leasing companies on return of 6 Russian-Ukrainian An-148 regional jets and 3 Boeing 767 liners due to their unprofitability.

Aeroflot was the launch customer for SSJ 100 aircraft; the carrier signed a contract for delivery of 30 jets of the type in 2005. In January 2015 Aeroflot and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company signed an agreement for delivery of 20 more SSJ 100 liners. Today Aeroflot’s fleet comprises 20 SSJ 100 jets.
