Mass production of Orion-1 UAV should be started in 2019, Director of UAV Department of Kronshtadt Group Nikolai Dolzhenkov told RIA Novosti at MAKS-2015 international airshow.

“The first prototypes will be manufactured in 2017-2018; and we hope to start the mass production in 2019,” Dolzhenkov said. Orion-1 is the civil version of a next-generation attack and reconnaissance UAV with a takeoff weight of 1 ton. According to Dolzhenkov, the maximum flight duration for this UAV will be 20 – 60 hours. Its maximum payload will be 300 kg.
