State Transport Leasing Company (STLC) and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC, part of United Aircraft Corporation) signed a firm contract for delivery of 32 Sukhoi SuperJet 100 aircraft at MAKS-2015 international airshow; the jets will be leased out to Russian regional airlines (under operating lease agreements).
Signing of this contract was announced by the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the opening ceremony of MAKS-2015. The document was signed by STLC CEO Sergey Khramagin and SCAC President Ilya Tarasenko.
Sergey Khramagin said at the signing ceremony: «STLC has a vast experience in working with regional airlines and leasing of regional aircraft. Our cooperation with SCAC will help renew and expand fleets of Russian carriers, contribute to development of Russian aircraft industry and promote import substitution in this segment».
Ilya Tarasenko, in his own turn, noted: «So far the contract with STLC is the largest order for Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. Cooperation with STLC opens up new possibilities for the project in terms of promotion of Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. I am confident that our cooperation will be fruitful and potential customers and operators of SSJ100 will get maximum advantages on favorable terms».
Under the contract the purchased aircraft will be delivered to the customer during a period from 2015 to late 2017. The contract also includes an option for 28 more jets of the type. During the signing ceremony the parties expressed hope that the contract between STLC and SCAC will drive the demand for Sukhoi Superjet 100 thanks to favorable terms offered to potential clients of the lessor.
The project paves the way for replacing outdated foreign aircraft with the new indigenous liners – Sukhoi Superjet 100. The project is financed by means of investing 30 billion rubles in the authorized capital of STLC; in addition, the lessor is going to raise 30 billion rubles in the form of extra-budgetary resources. Under the contract first jets of the type will be delivered to Yamal Airlines. STLC and Yamal signed the corresponding agreement at MAKS-2015 airshow, SCAC added.
