KRET is participating in retrofitting more than 20 types of aircraft in the service of the Russian Air Force. The use of new KRET technologies increases the combat capability and durability of Russian combat aircraft by at least a twofold factor.
Adviser to the Deputy CEO Vladimir Mikheev noted: "If you compare an aircraft to a person, then what we produce are the 'sensory organs' as well as the 'brain' that summarizes information transmitted by these senses."
KRET delivers a whole range of EW aircraft systems, which are installed on new and retrofit aircraft that are in the service of the Russian Defense Ministry. They include "Khibiny" and "Vitebsk" systems that are installed on the Su-27SM and Su-30SM aircraft, which protect helicopters and Su-25 fighter jets against MANPAD fire, as well as the latest "Gimalai" EW systems that are designed specifically for the fifth generation PAK FA aircraft.
In addition, KRET equips PAK FA with avionics and multifunctional radar system that are equipped with active phased array antennae (APAA) as well as upgraded SINS-SP2M strapdown inertial systems capable of processing course information without the use of satellite navigation systems in the event of interference from enemy electronic countermeasures or the unavailability of satellite signals.
KRET also delivers advanced solutions for the retrofitting of Su-27 and MiG-29 aircraft as well as new models based on them. For example, radar that has been designed for the MiG-35 with the "Zhuk-AE" active phased array makes it possible to detect and track all types of targets at ranges of up to 200 km away. KRET developed and now supplies "Irbis" radar systems that are able to detect targets up to 400 km away for 4++ generation Su-35s aircraft that were purchased by the Ministry of Defense.
KRET is taking an active part in retrofitting the Tu-160 supersonic, variable-sweep wing heavy strategic bomber and in the preparations for the resumption of the serial production of this aircraft as part of the task assigned by the country's leadership to develop Russia's strategic aviation capacities.
