Su-30SM fighter operated by naval aviation of Russian navy will take part in MAKS-2015 airshow for the first time, TASS reports with reference to a representative of press-service of Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Drigalo.
“The two-seat Su-30SM multi-role fighter operated by naval aviation of Russian navy will take part in demonstration flights at MAKS-2015 for the first time ever. Unique capabilities of the super-maneuverable fighter will be demonstrated by a mixed crew comprising pilots of Russian navy and test-pilots of Irkut Corporation,” Drigalo said.
According to him, Su-30SM will be demonstrated at the airshow in a traditional two-color livery (dark grey top and camouflaged bottom) with a picture of St. Andrew’s flag.
Su-30SM (production upgraded version) is the multi-role super-maneuverable fighter. It was derived from Su-30MK. The fighter meets the requirements of Russian air forces in terms of radar, radio communications systems, friend-or-foe identification system, ejection seats and a number of other systems. The jet is capable of using the advanced high-precision “air-to-air” and “air-to-surface” weapons.
