United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation showcased photos of Russian attack and surveillance air-cushion UAV Chirok for the first time on the eve of MAKS-2015 airshow, the corporation’s press-service reports.

Moscow Scientific Research Radio-technical Institute developed Chirok. According to designers, the required length of a runway will not exceed 100 m for this vehicle (including unpaved runways with a soft soil, irregularities and marshy land). The UAV is designed for monitoring the ground and water surface as well as carrying different payload. It is expected that the armed forces will be able to use it as the attack and surveillance UAV.

Chirok is able to climb to an altitude of up to 6000 m; its range is 2500 km. The new vehicle would be suitable for both manned and unmanned flights. In particular, it will be able to transport people to hard-to-reach regions,” said in the statement.
