Tupolev Company now has the permission to operate Tu-204SM full flight simulator

Federal Air Transport Agency of Russian Ministry of Transport (Rosaviatsiya) granted permission to operate Tu-204SM full flight simulator installed in the aviation training center of Tupolev Company in order to train pilots for jets of the type in accordance with the «Professional training program for pilots of Tu-204SM airliners», Tupolev Company’s press-service reports.

«Development of the Tu-204SM full flight simulator was started by Tupolev Company in accordance with instruction given by the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government S.B. Ivanov in the second half of 2012. The company was working in close cooperation with the world’s leading companies specializing in development and production of simulators and instruments: MOOG (Netherlands) – supplier of pressure-electric system simulating acceleration loads (active motion system) and feel simulator, Rockwell Collins (USA) – visualization system, including main module, back projection screen, wide-angle mirror, image generators, control station and projection devices, Sim-Industries B.V. (Netherlands) – cockpit of the simulator, including instructor workstation, CKT Company Ltd. Technologies – integration, assembly, adjustment of the simulator and development of a unique software, Transas – simulators of instruments, Aviastar-SP – equipment of the cockpit, Ulyanovsk Instrument Manufacturing Design Bureau, Aviapribor and a number of other suppliers,» said in the statement.

The experience gained in the course of development of the simulator and the training center will allow Tupolev design bureau to strengthen its positions; at the same time this will help the training center carry out personnel training in accordance with the latest international standards.
