Titanium raw materials extracted from the depths of the Australian continent have been delivered to VSMPO-AVISMA for the first time. A cargo ship carrying around 30,000 tons of concentrate arrived in Novorossiysk, where the large amount was divided into smaller packages of 1,800 tons and then shipped out on smaller river vessels along the Volga and Kama Rivers to Berezniki. Then, the raw materials were delivered by dump trucks to the smelter. The first tons of raw materials have already been deposited in factory storehouses, according to TASS.
As previously noted by VSMPO-AVISMA CEO Mikhail Voevodin, this year the company has expanded its primary sources of raw titanium materials to minimize political and economic risks.
