Aviation of the Western Military District will take delivery of ten Su-30SM and Su-35 jets this year

In 2015 Western Military District (WMD) will take delivery of more than 10 Su-35 and Su-30SM multi-role fighters, TASS reports with reference to the head of the WMD’s press-service Oleg Kochetkov.

“More than 10 Su-35 and Su-30SM multi-role fighters will be delivered to the WMD in the network of the State Defense Order for 2015,” he said.

“The jets will be protecting borders of northern and northwestern parts of Russia,” the officer noted. According to him, the pilots and maintenance personnel are completing their retraining course in order to prepare for operation of the new fighters.
